UUID / ULID / NanoID Generator

Generate RFC 4122 version 4 UUIDs, sortable ULIDs or compact NanoIDs — one at a time or in bulk. Microsoft-style GUID output is just the uppercase, brace-wrapped UUID form. Pick the identifier flavour and its options below; every value uses the browser’s cryptographic random source. Also see the Password Generator for human credentials.
Runs entirely locally — nothing is uploaded.
ID type: 122 random bits, formatted 8-4-4-4-12.

Upper + { } + hyphens = classic Windows GUID. Hyphenless forms are 32 hex characters.

UUID v4 is 122 bits of pure randomness formatted as 8-4-4-4-12 hex digits (xxxxxxxx-xxxx-4xxx-yxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx); the fixed 4 marks the version and y (always 8, 9, a or b) the variant. Collisions are practically impossible.

ULID (Universally Unique Lexicographically Sortable ID) is a 26-character Crockford Base32 string: a 48-bit millisecond timestamp (first 10 characters, so values sort by creation time up to year 10889) plus 80 random bits. IDs created in the same millisecond are generated monotonically — the next value is always strictly larger — which makes ULID ideal for append-heavy database keys and event streams.

NanoID is a compact, URL-safe id (64-symbol alphabet, 21 characters by default) roughly the size of a UUIDv4 in text but denser per character; length and collision odds are tunable (each added character multiplies the alphabet space 64×). Great for short public keys, share tokens and database rows that read well in URLs.
