How to use: Paste your HTML in the left textarea, choose a mode, and click Process.
Format: Beautifies HTML with configurable indentation (2/4 spaces or tabs). Preserves comments, doctype, and <script>/<style> content.
Minify: Removes all unnecessary whitespace to produce the most compact HTML possible. Preserves whitespace inside <pre> and <textarea>.
Validate: Checks HTML tag matching, void element rules, and reports common nesting errors with line/column numbers.
Preview: Renders your HTML in a sandboxed iframe so you can see exactly how it looks in a browser.
Parsing vs formatting
HTML parsers are forgiving — they auto-close tags and recover from errors, which is why sloppy markup still renders. A formatter re-emits that parsed structure with normalized indentation, while a minifier strips whitespace that parsers treat as collapsible.
Whitespace matters only between inline elements — block elements collapse surrounding spaces, which is why minifying is usually safe.
