JSON Compare

Compare two JSON documents and find all differences. See exactly what was added, removed, or changed — with full JSON paths. Also: JSON Formatter | JSON ↔ String | JSON ↔ CSV/TSV | All JSON Tools | JSON Viewer / Editor | JSONPath Evaluator | JSON Schema Validator | JSON → SQL / TOML.
All processing happens locally in your browser — your data is never uploaded to any server.
Paste two JSON documents below and click Compare to find differences.
Enter two JSON documents above and click Compare to see the differences.
How to use: Paste your original JSON in the left textarea (JSON A) and the modified version in the right textarea (JSON B). Click Compare to see all differences.
Result colors: Green = added in B, Red = removed from A, Yellow = value changed.
Set compare: When checked, arrays are compared as unordered sets (item order is ignored). By default, arrays are compared position-by-position.
Tip: The comparison is recursive — nested objects and arrays are fully traversed to find all differences at every level.
Structural diff — key order does not matter

JSON objects are unordered by definition, so a structural comparison reads both documents as trees and reports value differences by path — {"a":1,"b":2} and {"b":2,"a":1} are equal. Text-based diff tools would flag such files as fully changed. Arrays are ordered: compare position-by-position by default, or as unordered sets when item order is irrelevant.

Every difference is reported with its full JSON path, e.g. .items[0].price.
