Compute area, perimeter, and volume for common 2D and 3D shapes.
Includes an interactive triangle solver for angles and side lengths.
All calculations are performed locally.
Category:
2D Shape Calculator
Select a shape, enter values, and click Calculate
Tip: All area and perimeter results use the same length unit. Angles are in degrees.
3D Shape Calculator
Select a shape, enter values, and click Calculate
Tip: Surface area and volume results use the same length unit (cubed for volume).
Triangle Solver
Select a case, enter known values, and click Solve
Tip: SSS = 3 sides known. SAS = side-angle-side. ASA = angle-side-angle.
AAS = angle-angle-side. SSA may have 0, 1, or 2 solutions (ambiguous case).
Degrees, radians, and the triangle solver
Angles are measured in two interchangeable systems: a full circle is 360 degrees (the Babylonian inheritance) or 2π ≈ 6.283 radians — the radian measures arc length on a unit circle, which is why calculus formulas are written in it. One radian is 180/π ≈ 57.3°.
SSS, SAS, ASA and AAS each determine exactly one triangle, but SSA does not — two different triangles can share the same side-side-angle data (the ambiguous case), which is why the solver there reports 0, 1 or 2 solutions instead of guessing.
