PPT is for the older
version of PowerPoint 1997-2003,
supports VBA Macro.
PPTX is a file format used for
storing presentations and is associated
with Microsoft PowerPoint, a widely used
presentation software included in the
Microsoft Office suite. *.pptx is the
default format for PowerPoint
presentations since PowerPoint 2007.
PPTX is XML-based, open standard,
supports templates, slide master, embed
media, transitions and animations,
presenter view, password-protected.
It does not support VBA Macros to
enhance security.
POT is Microsoft
PowerPoint Templates, associated
with earlier versions of PowerPoint
1997-2003. These templates contain
predefined styles, formatting, and
content placeholders.
POTX is the format of
PowerPoint 2007. It
is based on the Office Open XML
standard.
