The WMV format, or Windows Media Video,
is a video compression format developed
by Microsoft. It is part of the Windows
Media framework and is designed for
efficient video compression and playback
on Windows-based systems. WMV files can
be used for streaming video over the
internet and for storing video content
on local devices.
